Darian ‘Duce’ Chestnut, a former Syracuse cornerback, has found a home in the SEC.
Chestnut on Sunday announced on social media that he committed to LSU.
A starting cornerback at Syracuse, Chestnut had 83 tackles and 4 interceptions over 2 seasons at Syracuse. He was named third-team All-ACC as a freshman in 2021, and was honorable mention on the All-ACC team this past season.
Early in his career, Chestnut was named a Freshman All-American by several national publications and was the runner-up for ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year in voting after the Camden, New Jersey native started all 12 games.
Chestnut led the Orange with 3 interceptions, and became the third Orange true freshman DB and first corner in the last 40 years to earn a Week 1 starting job out of camp.
