Darrel Williams, former LSU RB, reportedly signing with new NFL team
Darrel Williams went undrafted out of LSU in the 2018 NFL Draft. But, the talented running back found a home with the Kansas City Chiefs and has spent the 2018-2021 seasons with the squad, even winning a Super Bowl in 2019.
But, this offseason, he’s on the hunt for a new team, and it appears as though he may have found one in the NFC.
Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Williams is signing a contract with the Arizona Cardinals. Schultz also reports that Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes vouched for him:
Breaking: FA RB Darrel Williams is signing with the #AZCardinals, per source.
I’m also told Patrick Mahomes vouched for Williams, informing Arizona that he was a back he both liked/trusted. DW had a great season w/over 1,000 scrimmage yards, 8 TDs/zero fumbles (191 touches).

Williams played in 17 games for the Chiefs this past season, making 7 starts. He had 558 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns and added 47 catches for 452 yards and 2 scores as a receiver.
How will he fare in the desert? We’ll find out this fall!
