Da’Shawn Womack, former 5-star edge, reportedly transfers from LSU to Ole Miss
Da’Shawn Womack is set to continue his college career at Ole Miss, according to a report.
Per On3’s Pete Nakos, Womack has already signed with the Rebels. He was a 5-star prospect in the class of 2023 who began his career at LSU.
Womack was an elite prospect coming out of high school in Baltimore. He was the No. 36 overall prospect and the No. 6 edge rusher in the class of 2023, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Despite having elite pedigree as a prospect, Womack never carved out a huge role on LSU’s defense. He exits LSU with 21 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks in his 2-year stint with the Tigers.
He’ll now play for Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss, which has become one of the best transfer destinations in the country. The Rebels took well over 20 transfers last season, including defensive lineman such as Walter Nolen and Princely Umanmielen. That transfer duo combined for 27 tackles for loss and 17 sacks in 2024.
Ole Miss will hope to take another step forward next season after falling short of its College Football Playoff goals in 2024. The Rebels went 9-3 this past season with losses to Kentucky, LSU and Florida.
