Jackson State doesn’t usually compete with SEC schools for recruits, but Deion Sanders is trying his best to change that.

JUCO cornerback De’Jahn Warren, a Georgia 2021 pledge, was one of the first prospects to receive a JSU offer from Sanders. Tuesday night, departing Mississippi State freshman cornerback Javorrius Selmon announced his plan to transfer to Jackson State to play for “Coach Prime.”

Now, Sanders is looking at 2022 SEC commitments. Khamauri Rogers, rated the No. 1 recruit in Mississippi on the 247Sports Composite, shared that he received a JSU offer from Sanders. Rogers has been pledged to LSU since Nov. 24, 2019. JSU might get some consideration as the alma mater of Rogers’ dad plus the chance to learn to play cornerback from one of the NFL’s all-time greats.

Sanders certainly isn’t scared of going against the Power 5 big boys on the recruiting trail.
