Donte Starks’ time in Baton Rouge has come to an end.

LSU announced Starks has been dismissed for a violation of team rules. The decision was made head coach Ed Orgeron and officially announced by the team on Friday.

Starks saw action in three games in 2019 as a true freshman for the Tigers. This came after the start of his college career was delayed.

This news comes after LSU indefinitely suspended Starks back in February following an offseason arrest by Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives. While not charged with any drug violations, Starks was charged with illegally possessing a concealed handgun and attempting to run from police.

Starks was a four-star recruit and signed with the Tigers out of John Ehret High School in Marrero, Louisiana. He was ranked as the nation’s No. 10 inside linebacker prospect in the 2019 recruiting cycle.

The 2019 Under Armour All-American picked LSU over scholarship offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Florida and Clemson, among others.
