Two is better than one. For Will Wade, a successful Sunday just got better.

LSU basketball landed its second 4-star commitment of the day with 4-star 2021 C Jerell Colbert pledging to the Tigers. He broke the news to Evan Daniels of 247Sports.

“I picked them because basically it’s where I’m most comfortable at and the best fit for me to get to the next level with their training,” Colbert said.

Colbert also has scholarship offers from Oklahoma, Memphis, Michigan, Baylor, Houston and USC. LSU’s recruiting efforts made a strong impression.

“LSU was hitting me up every day,” he told Daniels. “I really liked that. The other schools were hitting me, but not as much as LSU. They connected with me and the coach Wade connected with me.”

A native of San Antonio, Texas, Colbert comes out of Cornerstone Christian rated the No. 3 Texas product, No. 6 center and No. 32 recruit overall in the class of 2021 on the 247Sports Composite.

Jerry Meyer of 247Sports evaluated Colbert in January:

Thin but has great length for a skilled power forward. Very mobile and a quality athlete. Has good footwork offensively. Can score facing up off dribble and can score turning to either shoulder. Adequate ball handler and passer at this point. Has potential as a jump shooter and potential overall offensively. Good rebounder and top notch shot blocker. High ceiling as a prospect. Does need to fill out some and get stronger.

Earlier on Sunday, Wade added to his 2020 class with the commitment of 4-star point guard Eric Gaines out of Lithonia, Georgia.
