One of the strangest stories to come out of the NFL Draft so far is that former LSU RB Derrius Guice fell to the second round, likely due to an incident in which it was reported that he got in a shouting match with Philadelphia Eagles executives.

Guice slipped to the latter part of the second round, where he was selected by the Washington Redskins. He has denied that any sort of incident took place.

On Saturday, Eagles vice president of football operations Howie Roseman also denied the report (via NBC Sports Philadelphia):

“There was no altercation here in this building that any of us are aware of,” Roseman said on Saturday. “I don’t know where that report came from. I can speak for everyone in here that nothing like that happened here in Philadelphia.”

By saying “in Philadelphia” at the end of his first statement, it begged the question of whether something happened in another city — perhaps in Indianapolis at the NFL Combine:

“There was no altercation,” Roseman repeated. “When you hear the word altercations, it’s like fisticuffs or something or yelling and screaming. I don’t know that I’ve ever been in a room where a player has yelled at anyone.”

Whatever happened (or didn’t happen), it doesn’t matter now. All Guice can do is go out and prove himself on the field. If he does that, a lot of teams will regret not taking him sooner.
