LSU is two quarters away from pulling off a shocking upset. Despite some big-name opt-outs, injuries and absences, Ed Orgeron’s Tigers lead No. 6 Florida 24-17 at the half.

“Turnovers are the big key,” Orgeron said in his halftime radio interview, per Scott Rabalais of The Advocate. “We’ve got a lot of young guys playing. I’m so proud of them. We can win but we’ve got to play well in the second half. We’ve got to eliminate the three-and-outs.”

Heisman Trophy contender Kyle Trask has been responsible for three turnovers. LSU managed 10 points off of two of those takeaways. Trask’s first INT of the night was turned into a pick-6. LSU was unable to capitalize off of a wild interception deep in Tiger territory, but Trask fumbled on Florida’s final possession of the half, setting up an easy field goal extending the lead to 24-17.

As was evident on College GameDay, Orgeron is dealing with a lot of criticism right now. That will quiet down if LSU hands Florida its second loss.
