Florida QB Kyle Trask has had a rough start to the game against LSU.

LSU DB Jay Ward made an interception midway through the second quarter off of a wild deflection from Dwight McGlothern, who was in mid-air on the sidelines. McGlothern tapped it back to Ward, who made the catch, and the play held up on official review.

The pass from Trask was intended for Kadarius Toney, who got his right hand on it even before McGlothern appeared to grab the ball falling out of bounds, only to deflect it back to Ward, who somehow kept his knees inbounds.

It ended a promising drive, and was the second interception of the game as the Gators tried to tie the game. The Gators were at the 15-yard line, and Ward made the catch at the 6-yard line. Trask hadn’t thrown two interceptions in a game this season. The first one was returned for a touchdown. It’s plays like that that have made this game a lot closer than many figured before kickoff.

Both teams were without star players in this game as Florida missed TE Kyle Pitts, while LSU was without CB Derek Stingley Jr.
