The first Sunday Coaches Poll of the 2026 season has been revealed following an exciting week of college football.
Texas is the big winner of the weekend. The Longhorns, appearing to be dead in the water, staged a furious comeback that ended with a Hollywood Smothers touchdown in the final seconds to beat Ohio State, 24-23. Appropriately, the Longhorns are No. 1 in this week’s Coaches Poll.
In total, 9 SEC teams cracked this week’s poll. Following the Longhorns are Georgia (No. 2), LSU (No. 7), Texas A&M (No. 8), Ole Miss (No. 9), Alabama (No. 10), Tennessee (No. 14), Oklahoma (No. 21) and Missouri (No. 22). In addition, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Auburn and Florida received votes.
