The SEC is on top in the latest Super 16 poll.
For the first time in almost two years (Sept. 29, 2024), SEC teams hold the top two spots in the poll, a collaboration between the Football Writers Association of America and the National Football Foundation. After their Week 2 wins, Texas and Georgia are in the top two spots.

The SEC leads all conferences with 7 teams in the latest poll. Here’s the full Super 16:
OTHERS RECEIVING VOTES: SMU (92), Utah (42), Michigan (42), Oklahoma (26), Virginia (21), Louisville (13), Missouri (13), Washington (10), Kansas State (6), Florida (6), Mississippi State (6), Houston (5), UCLA (4), Boise State (2), South Carolina (2), Virginia Tech (1).
The SEC’s 7 representatives all picked up Week 2 wins to improve to 2-0. Texas pulled off a thrilling comeback win over Ohio State in the marquee matchup of the week. Other wins of note in the SEC included Alabama scoring 32 unanswered points in a come-from-behind win over Kentucky, the first conference contest of the 2026 season. In other Power conference wins, Tennessee won on the road at Georgia Tech and Texas A&M picked up a home win over Arizona State.
