LSU will be part of the group opening SEC Media Days 2021 on Monday next week, along with Florida and South Carolina, which means it’s time for Ed Orgeron to pick the group of players that will be making the trip to Hoover with him this year.

There has been a slight change of plans by the SEC this year, teams will only be bringing two players to the event, previously that number was set at three.

While Orgeron says he wished he could bring five players this year, only two made the cut. LSU’s head coach revealed which Tigers would be traveling with him during his latest appearance on ESPN Baton Rouge radio show “Off The Bench” on Tuesday.

“This year, we are bringing Derek Stingley and Austin Deculus,” Orgeron said on the show. “Two great leaders. Obviously, Derek coming to LSU was great for us. He had committed to us, decommitted, gave some time off [from recruiting]. His dad was very instrumental in helping us recruit Derek. He wanted his son here, his momma wanted him here, Corey Raymond did a great job. Derek is the finest corner in America and a great leader for us. I can’t wait to bring him.

“Austin Deculus, think about the job he’s done. He was very instrumental in helping me recruit the offensive line to come back this year. I think that’s probably the biggest key to our season is that offensive line coming back. I’m very proud to bring both of those guys. They are going to represent LSU in the best way possible.”
