Ed Orgeron names 'likely' starter at QB for LSU against Alabama
The LSU Tigers will take on No. 1 Alabama on Saturday in a game rescheduled from earlier this season.
However, it isn’t yet known who will start at quarterback against the Crimson Tide — TJ Finley or Max Johnson.
On his radio show on Wednesday night, coach Ed Orgeron said he thinks Finley will get the nod, but both guys will see action on the field:
Ed Orgeron said on his radio show TJ Finley will likely start against Alabama, though LSU hasn’t finalized that decision and both quarterbacks will play.

Whoever starts will not have star WR Terrace Marshall Jr. to throw to, as he opted out of the rest of the season this week to focus on the 2021 NFL Draft.
Who will we see first? It seems Finley will get first crack at the Alabama defense. Will he or Johnson have success against the No. 1 team in the country?
Hope he’s ready to be sacked, because Orgeron will bench him again if he throws it up for grabs.
Our line has really played poorly lately. Johnson is the more mobile QB. It’s not going to be a fun day for either, but it should be another learning experience for both. Welcome to the SEC.
Johnson makes better decisions, too. Time to see what he can do with a start. If this is a prep year for 2021 (which is looking like wishful thinking with all the sh!t hitting the fan) then not seeing what Johnson can do as a starter is just another in the long line of bad decisions coming from the coaching staff.
Rapid evaluation: Finley-strong arm, fairly accurate, slow moving, and risky. Johnson-lesser arm, more mobile and more mature in the pocket. Both green as the Jolly Green Giant. Like sacrificing virgins to the Crimson Volcano. HELP-!!!
What a train wreck in Baton Rouge! Orgeron struck gold last year with his assistants.
Caught lightning in a bottle.
It’s funny hearing that from an Ole Miss fan. Everyone expects results like this from your team yet it’s a train wreck in Baton Rouge.
I’m not bashing LSU by making that comment. LSU is the better program. No doubt. But I think right now even the most avid LSU fan would agree that this seems train wreckish…..
You are right. Nobody blinks when the expected train wreck is just that. When you start at #6 and looks like your team has everybody wants to talk about the train wreck. Last years team doesn’t help with that perception.
