Ed Orgeron offers hilarious take on actor who portrays him on 'Young Rock' TV series
If you’re a fan of college football and pop culture, you’re probably aware that LSU coach Ed Orgeron coached Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson back when the now-famous actor was a defensive lineman at Miami.
Well, The Rock is so famous that he now has a TV show about his younger self — an NBC series called “Young Rock.”
And, let’s just say the actor hired to play Coach O is, well, not very much like the LSU head coach at all. On Tuesday, Coach O joined T-Bob Hebert on 104.5 ESPN and had a hilarious take on the actor portraying him:
What does Coach O think of #YoungRock Coach O?@TheRock @NBC

“Yeah, man, we gotta get that guy in the weight room!” Coach O laughs.
The Rock is indeed a big man, but so is Coach O. We’ll see if the actor takes Orgeron’s advice and bulks up as the season goes on.
I dunno. They’re both pretty dopey looking. Looks like a good fit to me.
It’s interesting though that they would shine an inadvertent light on Dacoacheaux’s time in Miami.
In these “witch hunty” days of canceling folks for past sins, we should ask this question. Has the statute of limitations run out on on Yawyaw teaching some poor woman (or women) a lesson or should we go ahead and cancel him too? After all, the local authorities had to get involved and put some distance between him and his lady. Whiteboots did some not so nice things to a gal down in Coral Gables. Remember all that? Sure you do.
And how does all that dovetail with LSU’s recent allegations and subsequent and cover ups? You know what they say. A team often reflects the character of its coach. This concept likely explains LSU’s problems, both on and off the field. Men who treat women poorly lack moral character. Players who quit on their team (and LSU has alot of them) lack competitive character.
None of this bodes well for the upcoming season people. You would do well to relinquish any fantasy, that the team and coach you pull for will have any sort of success that matters.
Oh and speaking of quitters. None of you expect Derrick Stingly to finish the season, do you? You know he won’t make it to November, right? I wonder who’ll join him.
STFU!
The character didn’t seem to bring the same intensity as Coach O
