LSU took care of business on Saturday, traveling to Arkansas for the only home night game in Fayetteville for the season for the Razorbacks, and came away with a 24-17 win on the road.

The game was won on defense, as Arkansas did not reach 100 yards of total offense in the game until the fourth quarter. While the Razorbacks did score two touchdowns in the final quarter of the game, not even that was enough to challenge LSU’s 21-point lead the team took into the fourth quarter.

On offense, LSU racked up 359 yards of total offense, with a very balanced 195 yards in the air and 164 on the ground. Joe Burrow finished the game completing 15 of 21 throws for 195 yards and one touchdown. Nick Brossette finished it with 90 yards on 23 carries and a single score.

Following the win, Ed Orgeron was asked to describe his team’s performance by SEC Network sideline reporter, Cole Cubelic.

“Good team win. We won it at the end of the game, give Arkansas credit,” Orgeron said. “Tough battle, we won the game,  focused on winning the game, we are going home with a win.”

The LSU coach followed that up by discussing his team’s solid performance running the ball, and their outstanding effort stopping the run.

“Yeah, we played good defense,” Coach O said. “We held them to maybe 30 yards rushing (Arkansas actually finished with 16 rushing yards). I thought our offensive line blocked good in the fourth quarter. We held the ball in the fourth quarter when we needed to.”

Finally, Orgeron was asked about his running back failing to get in the end zone on the final possession of the game, as Brossette kept sliding to prevent an LSU score.

“Yeah, we were just running the clock out,” Orgeron said. “We were going to try and score the touchdown but run the play out at the end and take the knee.”

LSU, now 8-2 on the season, will play Rice next weekend before traveling to Texas A&M to finish out the regular season.
