Ed Orgeron provides injury update on stars LSU players Arden Key and Derrius Guice
LSU is in a rare position heading into the 2017 season, as the Tigers have arguably the best offensive player (RB Derrius Guice) and arguably the best defensive player (DE Arden Key) returning from last year.
However, both players have been banged up a bit this summer, and both have been questionable for Saturday night’s game against BYU in New Orleans.
Coach Ed Orgeron has ruled out Key, who is still not up to full speed at practices. On Wednesday, he said it’s possible Key could be out for more than just Saturday’s opener:
O on Arden Key: "Doing well. Out there doing some things. Not going full speed. Still don't know when he's going to play." #LSU

The news was much more hopeful on Guice, who recently had his wisdom teeth taken out. Coach O said he expects the talented rusher to play on Saturday:
Orgeron says #LSU RB Derrius Guice will play in the game against #BYU.

How many snaps Guice plays remains to be seen, but having him out there at all will be a huge boost for the LSU offense.
Saturday night’s game is scheduled to kick off at 8:30 p.m. Central time and can be seen on ESPN.
