Ed Orgeron provides position update on LSU freshman Devonta Lee
LSU freshman Devonta Lee was a 4-star athlete coming out of high school in Amite, Louisiana, and he was both a receiver and a defensive back.
Now, he’s trying to stick at receiver for the Tigers, and coach Ed Orgeron is willing to let him give it a go.
On Coach O’s radio show on Wednesday night, he said Lee’s best position might be safety, but he’ll let Lee stay at receiver:
Ed Orgeron said LSU freshman Devonta Lee wants to play wide receiver, but “safety might be the best decision for him.” For now, Lee will stay at wide receiver.

Lee was the No. 8 athlete in the class of 2019 and the No. 10 overall recruit from the state of Louisiana, per the 247Sports composite.
The Tigers have a deep receiving corps and a strong secondary this year, so Lee will have some time to figure out what spot is best for him.
