LSU’s defense has been improving in recent weeks thanks in large part to the re-emergence of star pass rusher Arden Key, who had been working his way back from a shoulder injury.

However, against Arkansas on Saturday, Key was unable to finish the game due to an apparent knee injury.

During Monday’s press conference, coach Ed Orgeron said Key’s status is up in the air for this weekend’s game against Tennessee. He listed Key’s status as “questionable” for the SEC East-West crossover game:

Though the injury may not have seemed too serious, we’ve seen the Tigers be extra-careful with Key this season, so it wouldn’t be a complete surprise to see him sit on Saturday.

Key has four sacks in eight games this year, a far cry from the 11 he recorded in 11 games in 2016. He’ll be eligible for the NFL Draft after the season, but whether he declares after a slow season remains to be seen.
