Apu Ika is leaving LSU, and he’s made a decision regarding his next school. He’ll be reuniting with a familiar face when he gets there.

On Monday, Ika announced that he’s heading to Baylor, where he’ll play for head coach Dave Aranda, who was the defensive coordinator at LSU from 2016-19. The Bears are 2-7 in their first season under Aranda.

Ika will also reunite with Baylor defensive line coach Dennis Johnson, who was also an assistant under Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron from 2016-19.

As a freshman in 2019, Ika had 17 tackles in 13 games for LSU. He had five tackles and a sack in four games this season, before he decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal in October.

Ika was a 4-star recruit out of East High School in Salt Lake City and was part of LSU’s 2019 recruiting class. He was the No. 13 defensive tackle in the nation per the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Once Ika arrives at Baylor, he’ll have three years of eligibility remaining.
