Though Andrew Whitworth is in just his second season with the Los Angeles Rams, he’s leading a wave of support in a time of tragedy for the local community.

The former LSU offensive lineman plans to donate this week’s paycheck to victims of a mass shooting Wednesday night in Thousand Oaks, which is in the same area as the Rams’ practice facility. The Athletic first reported the charitable move from Whitworth, who tweeted Thursday morning that he intended to help the community.

Whitworth’s donation surely warms the hearts of Tigers fan who watched him play in every game for LSU from 2002-05. The former All-American was a vital member of the Tigers’ 2003 BCS national championship team before getting drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals, where he played until 2017.

Whitworth was named an All-Pro at left tackle for the Rams last season, but Los Angeles fans are happy to have him for off-the-field reasons, too.
