Former LSU OL Garrett Brumfield shares hilarious story of confusing a fan with 'Geaux Steelers' message
Former LSU OL Garrett Brumfield went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft, but quickly signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers after the draft ended.
Let’s just say Pittsburgh fans aren’t exactly well-versed in Cajun culture and don’t understand some of Brumfield’s LSU sayings.
As you can see below, Brumfield tweeted out a story of him signing and autograph for a Steelers’ fan with the message “Geaux Steelers,” utterly baffling that fan:
‘Whats Gee-Ox Steelers?’
It’s French. You say it like Go.‘You speak French?’
It’s a Louisiana thing. pic.twitter.com/EV9iBdZ4cz— Garrett Brumfield (@thisisbruiser) August 6, 2019
Of course, “Geaux Tigers!” is a popular cheer in Baton Rouge, but Steeler fans aren’t caught up on their undrafted rookie offensive lineman.
If he makes the roster out of training camp, maybe “Geaux Steelers!” will start to become a bigger thing in the Pittsburgh area.
