Former LSU lineman Saahdiq Charles briefly shared some public thoughts on how his alma mater handles marijuana use on Twitter. Charles deleted the tweet but it was up long enough to get noticed and shared via screenshot.

Charles bluntly stated that any athlete who smokes marijuana should not go to LSU because “it will be blown out of proportion” and “used against you compared to how a lot of other programs handle that.”

Brody Miller of The Athletic connected Charles’ tweet to Dare Rosenthal’s situation. Jimmy Smith of TigerDetails reported late last month that Rosenthal would be entering the NCAA transfer portal “following a violation of school policies that could cost him his 2021 campaign for the Tigers.” Based on Miller’s tweet, Rosenthal’s “violation of school policies” appears to have been marijuana use.

Rosenthal announced his transfer to Kentucky on Thursday.
