Thaddeus Moss certainly did not expect to be on waivers in late August when he decided to leave LSU early for the NFL. Washington waived Moss with an injury designation on Friday.

If Moss were to clear waivers, he could land on Washington’s injured list. Moss, however, might prefer an opportunity elsewhere with a fresh start. Washington beat reporter JP Finlay of NBC Sports doesn’t paint the best picture of Moss’ time with the club, nothing that the former Tiger was “barely participating” and that tight ends coach Pete Hoener “didn’t seem thrilled” with the rookie’s work in practice. The injury, which hasn’t been publicly detailed, certainly could have been hampering Moss in training camp.

Many fans were surprised Moss wasn’t drafted coming off of his 47 receptions for 570 yards and 4 touchdowns in LSU’s national championship campaign. Undrafted early entrants such as Moss tend to face an uphill battle to make an active roster.

We’ll see what’s in store next for Moss.
