One former LSU WR is getting a shot with a new NFL team entering the 2023 season.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, former Tigers star DJ Chark is signing a one-year deal to join the new-look Carolina Panthers. Chark will join new head coach Frank Reich and the team that holds the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft, a pick many expect will be utilized on a quarterback in April.

Chark personally confirmed the move in a note on Twitter, sharing his gratitude to the Detroit Lions for the 2022 season:

“The past year has been incredible for me. Signing with Detroit and meeting the great people of that organizaiton was huge for me,” wrote Chark. “Playing with my brothers and going from 1-6 to 9-8 was amazing! I believe transparency and honesty is everything. With that being said this chance in Carolina is second to none! Can’t wait to see what this journey holds for me!”

During the 2022 season, Chark finished 3rd on the Lions with 502 receiving yards and added 3 receiving touchdowns. It was a nice bounce-back performance for Chark after being limited to 4 games during the 2021 season.

He joins the Panthers with just over 2,500 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns across 5 NFL seasons.
