Harold Perkins made a play exactly when the LSU defense needed it.

The LSU defense has been struggling all year for the Tigers, and it hasn’t gotten much better on Saturday. The Missouri offense has put up 22 points in the second en route to a double-digit lead. The first half has a feel similar to last week’s loss to Ole Miss, when the Tigers gave up 55 points.

However, the LSU defense finally made a play, as linebacker Harold Perkins made an interception to give LSU the ball back.

LSU desperately needed that play as Missouri’s offense has been on fire. Missouri quarterback Brady Cook is 14-of-18, 197 yards and 2 touchdowns thus far.

That interception was the first he has thrown this season, and ends his SEC record streak of passes without an interception at 366 passes. The last interception he had thrown previous to this one was against Vanderbilt last season on Oct. 22, 2022.

The LSU offense, which has been very good all year, capitalized on the interception and scored a touchdown to cut the lead to 22-17 late in the first. Jaylen Daniels hit Mason Taylor on a 3-yard touchdown pass.
