One of the major question marks on LSU’s roster heading into fall camp is the team’s No. 2 cornerback position. While Greedy Williams has already proven to be one of the SEC’s best cover corners during his one season on the field for the Tigers, offenses are likely to pick on the opposite side of the field this fall as LSU doesn’t return much experience at corner outside of Williams.

However, that shortcoming could potentially be filled by the Tigers with the return of Kristian Fulton. The 2016 five-star prospect, rated as the nation’s No. 3 corner and No. 22 overall prospect by 247Sports Composite Rankings coming out of Metairie, La., has yet to see the field for the Tigers in any meaningful action as a true freshman and was later placed on suspension by the NCAA for cheating on a PED test.

Per NCAA rules, cheating on a PED test results in an automatic two-year suspension.

If you don’t know the full story, Fulton claims he thought he was being tested for drugs and he mistakenly tried to cheat the drug test. Once he was caught, he was forced to retake the test and passed the NCAA’s PED test, as well as several others since that time. He has never failed a PED test in his career.

Fulton’s attorney recently got the NCAA to reevaluate his client’s situation and now we know when that hearing will be. According to multiple reports, Fulton’s hearing will take place on Thursday, Aug. 9. Fulton’s attorney is asking the NCAA to shorten his client’s suspension to time served. It should be noted that if Fulton failed the original PED test, or drug test for that matter, he would be eligible to play for the upcoming season for LSU.

If this appeal turns out in LSU’s favor, it could lead to one of the best defensive backs in the SEC finally hitting the field in Baton Rouge.
