Leonard Fournette already had a decorated LSU career, but as offenses evolve, the former star couldn’t help but wonder what might have been.

Fournette, who had a disappointing season last year with the Jacksonville Jaguars, is re-energized entering this season. He also likes what he saw to start the season at LSU.

Even in an LSU offense that was often criticized, Fournette finished fourth in LSU history in rushing yards with 3,830 in just 32 games. He finished second in school history in all-purpose yards per game (155.7), No. 3 in overall touchdowns (42), No. 4 in rushing touchdowns (40) and all-purpose yards (4,981), No. 7 in scoring (252) and No. 8 in touchdowns responsible for (42).

“Dam if only I had this offense at school when I was there who knows what would I have rush for,” Fournette tweeted.

Much of the hype for the LSU offense is around the arrival of former New Orleans Saints assistant Joe Brady as passing game coordinator. But the Tigers also have the one-two punch of John Emery and Clyde Edwards-Burrow in the backfield.

In a 55-3 beatdown of Georgia Southern, the Tigers had seven players rush for 122 yards and two touchdowns on 33 carries.
