What do LSU fans and Ja’Marr Chase have in common?

They were both shown LSU’s latest No. 7 reveal video on Thursday for the first time.

If you missed the news out of Baton Rouge, LSU’s rising junior has been honored with the No. 7 jersey for 2020 after catching 84 passes for 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns during his sophomore season.

The team announced the decision to give Chase No. 7 with a video reveal, which can be seen below.

Last season, Grant Delpit wore No. 7 for the Tigers. Previous notable No. 7’s in Baton Rouge include Leonard Fournette, Patrick Peterson, Tyrann Mathieu and DJ Chark.

The video is the latest reminder that LSU has arguably the greatest hype video production team in the country as they produced outstanding video releases seemingly every week during the 2019 season.

Chase also offered up these comments on earning the jersey heading into his junior season in Baton Rouge.

“This was a tough decision for me,” Chase said. “I’ve been thinking about this for a couple of weeks. I look at No. 7 as a competitive number. I think the No. 7 at LSU is a challenge. There’s a lot of things that go on in the year when you have 7 on, a lot of critics, a lot of people, a lot of expectations from 7, and I want to have that challenge upon me.”
