With an 11-yard swing pass to Clyde Edwards-Helaire, LSU QB Joe Burrow became the all-time passing yards leader in the SEC. He did it early in the third quarter in a rout of Texas A&M.

Burrow eclipsed the 4,275 set by Tim Couch in 1998 thanks to 231 yards in the first half. The record came with 12:16 left in the third quarter from the LSU 35-yard line. He needed 261 entering the game, and he had 265 by the end of that early third quarter drive.

It’s been a season of smashing records for Burrow, who earlier this season broke Rohan Davey’s record and become LSU’s new all-time single-season passing leader. The record by Davey was set in 2001, when he passed for 3,347 yards.

He came into the Texas A&M game with 4,104 yards and 41 touchdown passes this season while completing 78.9 percent of his throws, which led the nation.

Jimbo Fisher has noticed it, too.

“Remember, here’s a guy who moved all the way across the country from Ohio to Louisiana and had to make adjustments,” Fisher said, according to the Associated Press. “People don’t take into account how that affects guys, and I’m sure he’s more comfortable there. … He’s obviously the leader of that team, and you can see it. I think the guy’s playing outstanding football. He’s playing as good as any quarterback I’ve seen in a long, long time.”
