Joe Burrow is heading back to his dome of glory.

The former LSU quarterback, who led the Tigers to the national championship in 2019 with a 42-25 victory over Clemson at the Superdome, is heading back to New Orleans this Sunday as the enemy.

This time, Burrow will be trying to lead his 2-3 Cincinnati Bengals past the 2-3 Saints when he makes his 1st return to the scene of his greatest triumph. Burrow almost added a Super Bowl championship to his list of accomplishments last season, but he and the Bengals fell short against the Rams.

Burrow, forever a legend in the Bayou who also won the Heisman Trophy during that magical 2019 season, admitted during a recent press conference that playing in the Superdome does carry a little more importance for him.

“It’s a place [where] a lot of good memories were made,” Burrow told reporters, per ProFootballTalk. “But it’s a business trip. We’re going in to win a game. So I’m excited to go back, excited to see all the fans who supported me. But they’re not going to be cheering for us this time.”

Burrow threw for 5,671 yards with 60 touchdowns and just 6 interceptions during LSU’s 15-0 season.
