Former LSU star Odell Beckham Jr. managed to get in the headlines on Monday night/Tuesday morning when video of him handing (some form of) money to Tigers players went viral. Comments made by Joe Burrow are now bringing more attention to the story.

On Tuesday, an LSU official told Brooks Kubena of The Advocate that the athletic department was looking into whether Beckham handed out novelty bills. The official relayed that novelty bills were found on the field of the Superdome after LSU’s 42-25 win over Clemson. A comment made by Burrow, however, is being interpreted as him saying Beckham was handing out real money.

Burrow recently visited the popular Barstool Sports podcast Pardon My Take. Barstool transcribed a portion of Burrow’s conversation with the hosts. Dan Katz, better known as Big Cat, asked Burrow about Beckham handing out money:

Katz: Did Odell give you money?

Burrow: Umm… yeah. I’m not a student-athlete anymore, so I can say yeah.

Katz: Yeah, that’s sick. He was just handing out cash? I was just thinking it would have been awesome if Odell just started printing fake money as just a flex.

Burrow: With like his face on it?

Katz: Yeah, like you try to pay for a drink and… this is Monopoly money. That’s sick that he was just handing out cash. How much cash did he bring?

Burrow: I don’t know.

With Pardon My Take getting the attention of Big Js everywhere, it’s safe to say the Beckham story isn’t going away.
