Jordan Wright and Will Baker transferred into LSU under head coach matt McMahon because they saw opportunity.
The former Vanderbilt and Texas transfers join an LSU squad that will look a lot different from its 2022-23 season. The Tigers have a balance of returning talent, transfers and a few intriguing freshman as well.
On Wednesday, Wright and Baker were asked why they chose to transfer to LSU. Their answer? For one, it was a great fit. For another, Wright specifically wants to return the program to what it was when he was growing up.
Both Jordan Wright and Will Baker said the opportunity to come play at LSU was a great fit for both.
“Wanted to return it to what it was when I was growing up,” Wright said. #LSU

Wright is 23 and likely watched LSU crack the Final Four in 2006. The Tigers, coached by John Brady, fell to UCLA as a 4-seed after downing a Rick Barnes-led Texas squad, JJ Redick-led Duke and Texas A&M.
The Tigers saw success again in the late 2010s but have since fell by the wayside. McMahon hopes to start the turnaround this season.
The Tigers were picked to finish 2nd to last in the conference by SEC media.
