Justin Jefferson joins elite LSU company two games into 2019 season
Odell Beckham, Jr. is already known an all-time great among the LSU wide receivers in history. Justin Jefferson may be on his way.
Jefferson joined Beckham as the only LSU receivers in the last 15 seasons to have 10 receptions and 250 receiving yards through 2 games, according to the SEC Network.
Jefferson had 9 catches for 163 yards and 3 TDs in the 45-38 win over Texas. That followed a game against Georgia Southern when he had 5 catches for 87 yards and a TD.
Coach Ed Orgeron said this week that he hoped there was another Jefferson coming along after Justin is third of the Jefferson brothers to play football at LSU, joining older brothers Jordan and Rickey.
This is no surprise for those who have watched LSU in recent years. Jefferson last year made a catch in all 13 games, and was LSU’s top receiver in 2018, as he led the Tigers in receptions (54), yards (875) and TDs (6).
