Leonard Fournette is somewhat of a polarizing figure leading into the NFL Draft.

On one hand, Fournette looks like a top five pick in terms of pure talent, but still, questions linger about his weight and overall health after being banged up in 2016.

Fournette weighed in at 240 pounds at the NFL Combine, but he’s dropped 12 pounds since then, weighing in at 228 at LSU’s Pro Day.

That’s somewhat significant news.

When questioned why he was “heavy” at 240 pounds at the combine, Fournette cited “water weight.”

“It was surprising. I drank a lot of water before I weighed in, so it was water weight. It went away completely. (I wanted to weigh) 235, which is what I played at in the season,” Fournette said via NFL.com.

Of course, everyone had some criticism because he was heavier than expected, especially after he didn’t test well in some of the metrics. However, he quieted critics after he ran a blazing 4.51 … at 240 pounds.

That’s a big man moving.

And water weight is certainly what it’s looking like, too, after weighing in 12 pounds less at LSU’s Pro Day.

Regardless of what Fournette does at the Pro Day, weighing in 12 pounds less is the most significant news you’ll hear about Wednesday. How much will it affect his draft stock? It likely won’t have much of an impact, but it could certainly ease some fears in some scouts’ minds.
