LSU S Grant Delpit is off to a hot start as a sophomore this year. Through five games, he has 27 tackles (6.5 for a loss), three sacks, two interceptions and three passes defended.

Those are impressive numbers, and Delpit’s teammates are already comparing him to former LSU star S Jamal Adams, who was a top-10 pick by the New York Jets in the 2017 NFL Draft.

As you can see below, Adams caught wind of those comparisons and said that, while Delpit has been great, he needs to do it for longer to be mentioned alongside Adams:

That confidence is what made (and continues to make) Adams so great, and Delpit could certainly follow in Adams’ footsteps.

For now, though, let’s just enjoy watching Delpit do his thing and make a name for himself, like Adams said.
