LSU announces who will wear iconic No. 7 jersey for the 2021 season
The No. 7 jersey is an LSU legacy, starting with Patrick Peterson.
Since Peterson donned the number, Tyrann Mathieu, Leonard Fournette, DJ Chark Jr., Grant Delpit and others have been lucky enough to wear the jersey.
On Tuesday, the Tigers announced that junior CB Derek Stingley Jr. would continue the No. 7 legacy in 2021:

This will likely be a 1-year stop for the No. 7 jersey, as Stingley will almost certainly be a first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Can Stingley live up to the legacy of the number? He’s shown elite talent in his first 2 years in Baton Rouge. We’ll see if he can keep it going this fall.
