LSU basketball picked up a new commitment for its 2021 class on Friday when shooting guard Brandon Murray announced his pledge to the Tigers.

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Murray plays at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Billy Emoby of Geaux247 notes he committed to Will Wade’s Tigers despite not having visited LSU campus.

“I’m very excited to make my decision,” Murray said, per Geaux247. “Basically, how I made my decision was the schools that were recruiting me the hardest and just the best fit. I just felt LSU was the best fit. What stood out about the program was the way they recruited me. They didn’t just recruit me as a player, they recruited me like family.

“I know LSU, everyone knows about the program, it’s a big-time program. There’s a lot of things that people don’t know and just base it off what they’ve seen, but it’s just an amazing program for me.”

Murray is rated 3-stars and the No. 52 shooting guard in the 2021 class. He chose LSU over offers from Auburn, DePaul, George Washington, Maryland, USF, VCU and Wichita State.

Murray joins 4-star center Jerrell Colbert and reclassified 3-star center Bradley Ezewiro in LSU’s 2021 recruiting class.
