Hosting camps is one of the best ways for programs to close the deal with recruits. The players are on campus with other prospects and get the opportunity to tour the facilities and work with coaches who are sure to point out all the reasons why they are a major priority.

LSU held its OL/DL camp in Baton Rouge over the weekend, and it reportedly added a pair of commitments after the festivities.

Dare Rosenthal, a 4-star defensive tackle prospect, and Dantreize Scott, a 3-star athlete prospect and Rosenthal’s high school teammate, each pledged to the Tigers on Saturday afternoon, according to reports by Shea Dixon of 247Sports.

Head coach Ed Orgeron seemed to confirm those reports by sending out a tweet that contained two of LSU’s standard commitment signal.

Rosenthal is the big acquisition for LSU. The 6-foot-7, 327-pound defensive tackle has an offer sheet filled with college football’s premier programs. Rosenthal is rated the No. 21 defensive tackle prospect and the No. 8 prospect from the state of Louisianna in the Class of 2018, while Scott is rated the No. 64 prospect from Louisianna, according to the 247Sports Composite Ranking.

The two commitments give LSU 19 total for its 2018 class, the first class under Orgeron. The Tigers have the No. 3 class in the country and the top class in the SEC, according to the 247Sports Composite.
