LSU safety Joe Foucha is facing a 4-game suspension for academics, according to a report by Wilson Alexander and Sheldon Mickles of Nola.com. Foucha isn’t playing against Florida State Sunday night.

Foucha’s academic suspension could be reduced due to an ongoing appeal, per the report.

The LSU defensive back transferred to LSU from Arkansas, where he was previously a 3-year starter. During his Arkansas career, Foucha racked up 230 tackles and 4 interceptions.

“I really feel like as far as defense the 3-2 scheme that we run, I want to be in a four down front, and I feel like LSU do that very well,” he told Tigerbait.com’s Preston Guy following his transfer to LSU.

He grew up dreaming of playing for LSU, but that dream is going to have to wait at least a few more games.
