The LSU Tigers had recently overtaken Alabama for the No. 1 recruiting class in the SEC for the 2020 cycle, behind only Clemson.

However, on Tuesday, the Tigers suffered a decommitment from a 4-star offensive lineman out of Texas.

As you can see below, highly-rated prospect Courtland Ford announced via Twitter that he was re-evaluating his situation and re-opening his recruitment:

Per the 247Sports composite, Ford is the No. 29 offensive tackle in the class of 2020 and the No. 52 overall recruit from the state of Texas.

With Ford’s departure, LSU’s recruiting class is down to 17 players. Now, the Tigers are behind Alabama and Clemson in the rankings, with the No. 3 class nationally and No. 2 class in the SEC, per 247Sports.
