LSU loses commitment from 5-star 2022 big man out of Arizona
LSU has its new coach in Matt McMahon, who will take over the men’s basketball program after Will Wade was fired.
He’ll certainly have his work cut out for him as potential NCAA sanctions hang over the program like a dark cloud. And, he’ll have to hit the ground running when it comes to recruiting.
As you can see below, Yohan Traore, a 5-star 2022 big man out of Arizona, announced on Instagram he was decommitting from the Tigers:

That leaves McMahon in the unenviable spot of having exactly 0 commits in any upcoming recruiting class:
#LSU now has no zero commits for any class. All four guys signed/committed under Will Wade are going in new directions.
Matt McMahon will start from scratch when it comes to recruiting, which includes the 2022 class that will be freshmen next fall. Transfer portal will be key…

That’s not exactly surprising, as the NCAA could decide to issue a postseason ban to the Tigers. But, now, McMahon has to completely rebuild upcoming recruiting classes.
Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Traore is the No. 4 center in the 2022 class and the No. 1 recruit from the state of Arizona.
