LSU OC: I was skeptical of Joe Burrow, but not anymore
As an LSU quarterback, Joe Burrow will always have his share of critics. Burrow hasn’t been in Baton Rouge long after making his decision to transfer from Ohio State following the Buckeyes spring game, but he appears to have already won over one of his most important critics, Tigers OC Steve Ensminger.
Speaking at the Tigers Caravan stop in Metairie, La., Ensminger shared some of his early impressions of the new LSU signal-caller. In the comments tweeted by Scott Rabalais of The Advocate, Ensminger candidly admits he was initally skeptical of Burrow’s arm strength on film, but any concern in that area has been put to bed by what the offensive coordinator has seen up close.
Ensminger on Burrow again: A big strong athletic kid, doesn’t make a lot of mistakes mentally and a very accurate kid. Watching on film I questioned his arm strength, but not anymore. #LSU

Ensminger also praised Burrow’s work ethic with embracing additions to the playbook.
Talking to Steve Ensminger at Tiger Caravan in Metairie, naturally about Joe Burrow: I’m very impressed with him. We put in something new every day and he’s in there studying every day.” #LSU

Burrow’s attitude has also impressed head coach Ed Orgeron.
Coach O on Burrow: He’s competing. He’s very smart. The thing with Joe that’s impressing everybody is he works hard.#LSU

While the addition of Burrow, the star of OSU’s spring game, is seen as a huge boost for the Tigers in 2018, Orgeron said the transfer quarterback still faces a “big challenge” in trying to become the starter.
Coach O on Joe: He’s 6-2, 220. He’s strong. Working in the weight room.
His biggest challenge? To go out and win the starting job. We’ve got 3 good QBs. #LSU— Scott Rabalais (@RabalaisAdv) June 28, 2018
