LSU is reportedly bringing back offensive coordinator and Broyles Award finalist Mike Denbrock on a 3-year extension, per Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger.

The Tigers’ offense was one of the best in the country, leading the SEC in total yards (547.8), passing yards (334.3), and rushing yards (213.5) per game.

Denbrock used quarterback Jayden Daniels as the main cog in the offense. Daniels has accounted for 3,812 yards passing, 1,134 yards rushing, and 50 touchdowns as he looks to bring the Heisman Trophy back home to Baton Rouge.

The LSU OC was in his 2nd season with the Tigers this year. He was previously the OC on Luke Fickell’s staff at Cincinnati when the Bearcats made it to the College Football Playoff in 2021.

Brian Kelly was already familiar with Denbrock when LSU hired the assistant. Denbrock and Kelly worked together at Notre Dame from 2010-2016.

Offense wasn’t the problem in Baton Rouge, it was the defense. LSU allowed 409.2 yards per game, which was the 2nd-most in the SEC.
