All LSU players know what it means to don either the No. 7 or No. 18 for the Tigers. Those are special honors that only go to the team’s leaders and have been donned by some of the program’s all-time greats throughout the years.

In 2020, senior safety JaCoby Stevens will be wearing No. 7 and sophomore running back Chris Curry and junior linebacker Damone Clark will each be donning No. 18, as LSU recently announced. And as you might expect, these Tigers players were excited to share the news with their families after they found out.

On Monday, LSU tweeted out a video from when that happened, as Stevens, Curry and Clark each called home to inform their loved ones of the big news:

Stevens is joining a decorated list of LSU players to wear No. 7, a group that includes Grant Delpit, D.J. Chark, Leonard Fournette, Tyrann Mathieu and Patrick Peterson.

Before Curry and Clark, former Tigers players such as K’Lavon Chaisson, Tre’Davious White and Jacob Hester were among those to wear No. 18 for the team.

This trio will be looking to lead LSU to success in 2020 after the program won the national championship last season. The Tigers lost some key players from that team, but they also still have plenty of talent.

LSU is set to open the season at home on Saturday against Mississippi State at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
