LSU saw every scholarship player on its roster enter the transfer portal after Will Wade was fired earlier this year.

Now, though, new coach Matt McMahon is trying to put together his first Tiger roster, and it appears he’s succeeded in convincing a 2021-22 starter to withdraw from the portal.

Per his Twitter account, Mwani Wilkinson has decided to withdraw from the portal and stay at LSU for the 2022-23 season:

This is a huge win for McMahon, as Wilkinson appeared in 34 games this past season, making 30 starts. He averaged 4 points, 3 rebounds and 1.2 steals per contest.

Now, we’ll see if McMahon and Wilkinson can convince any other former Tigers to stick around for another year in Baton Rouge.
