LSU kicks off the season against Miami on Sunday, and while coach Ed Orgeron hasn’t publicly named a starting quarterback, Miami already thinks they know who it will be.

According to the Miami Herald, Mark Richt said on his weekly WQAM radio show that his coaches are expecting Ohio State graduate transfer Joe Burrow to start against his Hurricanes.

Burrow, who is listed as a junior, has been battling sophomore Myles Brennan for the starting position under center in fall camp and is considered the favorite to win the job.

Burrow redshirted in 2015 and was J.T. Barrett’s backup in Columbus for the 2016 and 2017 seasons. He played in 10 games and completed 29 of 39 passes for 287 yards and two touchdowns.

“He’s a super mobile guy,” said Richt of Burrow. “You can expect certain quarterback run aspects” and if not, “you can expect … more of a power running game … play action pass and more pocket stuff. We think it’s going to be Burrow … but we’ll see.”

Do you agree with Richt? Will Burrow prove to be the guy for the Tigers?
