One former LSU player is calling for Les Miles to be fired.

After the dud that was No. 5 LSU’s 16-14, season-opening loss to Wisconsin last Saturday, Marcus Spears said it’s time for a change at his alma mater. The former All-American defensive end made his comments Monday on The Paul Finebaum Show when a caller asked him what went wrong for the Tigers.

“More than anything, it might be time for a change at LSU,” Spears said. “I’m calling it. I know a lot of people say, ‘Don’t get caught up on the one-game scenario.’ The issue for LSU is that with the ending of last season and how tumultuous that was, and then you go into (an) offseason and all the talk being about what are you going to do offensively to showcase these guys on the field. And nothing changed in the first game of the season.”

When Finebaum pressed Spears about potentially overreacting to just one game, he said: “It’s not one game. I made that mistake and said, ‘It’s one game,’ after I saw the loss. But then I think back to what this issue was. The issue can’t be the same from last year. … It’s time for a new coach.”
