The Memphis Express are off to a rough start in the new Alliance of American Football. Through three weeks, they have an 0-3 record and have scored only 35 total points.

A lot of the offensive struggles can be traced back to starting QB Christian Hackenberg, who had only 277 yards and three interceptions (to go with zero touchdowns) in the first three games.

In a loss to Orlando over the weekend, coach Mike Singletary switched to former LSU QB Zach Mettenberger, leading to more positive results. Now, it appears Mettenberger will get the starts going forward:

Mettenberger took over for Hackenberg this weekend, throwing for 120 yards and two touchdowns in the 21-17 loss to the Apollos.

Can Mettenberger keep the job? We’ll find out starting this weekend, as the Express plays host to the San Diego Fleet on Saturday afternoon.
