As a new crop of players prepares to enter the NFL, teams and scouts will get a long look at them in Indianapolis this week at the annual Scouting Combine.

Many eyes will be on former LSU DB Donte Jackson, who is a borderline first-round prospect and could cement his day one status with a strong performance.

The track star will also try to beat former Washington WR John Ross’s 40-yard dash record, which he set by running it in 4.22 seconds last year. Jackson decided to try to build some hype around his run, tweeting with Adidas on Monday about potentially landing a sponsorship if he breaks the record:

Obviously, beating Ross’s record is easier said than done, but Jackson has a legitimate shot.

If he runs in the 4.2 to 4.3 range, he should move into more first-round projections, which will bring him a big payday with or without Adidas’s money.
