Though Texas A&M De Myles Garrett is considered the consensus No. 1 overall pick in this year’s NFL draft, NFL.com’s own Bucky Brooks has other thoughts.

In his latest ranking, Brooks argues that LSU DB Jamal Adams is the most complete prospect because of his versatility, talent, and raw measurable skills.

After running a 4.38 in the 40-yard dash at LSU’s pro day, the 6-foot-2, 214-pound DB shows both the size and speed for the next level. We’ve watched him for three years, and his instincts are certainly elite, along with his tackling ability.

But according to Brooks, it is Adams’ leadership that truly makes him stand above the rest.

An AFC secondary coach called him a “culture changer” based on the way that he holds his teammates accountable for their preparation and performance. The coach went on to tell me that Adams has the “it factor” that every coach covets in a leader and top player.

So, for Brooks, Adams has the physical ability, and he possesses the intangibles that all coaches covet.

At LSU in 2016, Adams recorded 76 tackles and 7.5 tackles for loss and captained the Tigers to the fourth-best passing defense in the SEC, as well as giving up only nine passing touchdowns — the second-lowest in all of FBS.

Brooks says his rare resume makes Adams a can’t miss prospect.
